Los Angeles Pianist- A Day or Two At The Races

Recently I was contacted by the refreshingly bright Molly at Santa Anita to bring some Piano Music to the Turf Club in the exquisite Chandelier Room.

What a treat! : )

I hadn’t really played the beautiful Steinway and Sons Grand for several years when I had had the pleasure of playing a cool fundraiser there for a local Church.

And this was my first time playing at the races!

What’s not to love? The room is amazing. Molly is a dream to work for.

The whole place is loaded with “color”! The main bartender Frank has worked there for decades and is personal or was personal friends with all the rat pack singers who apparently used to be regulars in the day.

So far in the almost half a dozen times I’ve played there I have had a blast!

One day I even got to play for a beauty contest while Miss Santa Anita was narrowed do from 20 Gorgeous ladies to 5….oh la la!: )

Did I mention how amazing the fashion at the races is? This is a whole world unto itself! A real vibe, and its cool.

I am just happy and honored to get the opportunity. To work in this venue!
