Exciting!!

Everyone’s excited at a wedding! : ) There’s nothing quite like it. There’s love in the air. There’s a hope and adventure. There’s a new start. It’s like spring.

Art!

The ceremony is beauty. The bride and groom look amazing. The table, settings the care that goes into it. Each little part oozes detail. And beauty.

What artist did not want to help create that? :  )

The future depends on weddings!

Marriage makes great things for the future.

And much to look forward to.

The music is a back drop for all that,a soundtrack. And music  that embodies all of that works very well.

And it can be it standards, or Coldplay or Bach.

I always enjoy being part of that whole creation. I like to make it special for everyone there that I can.

I like to work with the bride and groom and find out what they love and make that happen for them.

It’s a big beautiful exciting day. It’s a pleasure to be part of that.

I mean what if every day was like that? : )

Los Angeles Pianist-And Super Cool Awesome (Dope!!) Studio Dude!! : )

I’m in Love. I just got a Neumann mic and of all the different things I’ve done to improve my studio over the past 10 years I think it’s the best one of them ever!

This is she! The wonderous one!!

I’ve always heard great things about Neumann Mics but now I see, I hear, I know for my self. They are truly remarkable.

So this doesn’t mean that I’m not going to be continuing to jam out as one of  the most workingest pianists in Los Angeles my  7-11 Gigs every week…

But it means that time time I’m spending in my studio..working on my own awesome songs ,or… music for demos for the various 25 or so songwriters I work for, or…

TV or Film or whatever some wildly random

person might want and need produced in my cool studio….I’ will be having 10 times more fun and getting a way better overall product!! Yaaaay!!

Neumann, I love you! : )

Song Demos-Another Product I Get – As an LA Pianist!!

Here’s a review of a couple of song demos I did for a recent client.

I love her songs and I love working with her! :-)

Review:

As an amateur songwriter, I needed a musician to help me produce demos, and fortunately met Marc. As much as he is a true musician, he is also warm, gentle and patient. He guided me through the entire process, making creative and practical suggestions where needed. As much as I appreciated his 3d-sound perception, I appreciated his honest recommendations as to what works, and what doesn’t. He transformed a process that was unknown, seemingly impossible and quite intimidating into a meaningful, doable and FUN experience for me! All I can say is, thank you!

Top 10 Reasons Los Angeles Rocks for Pianists! : )

I was writing the past blog post and then I thought no, this is great top 10 list post!

So here goes!

These are the Top 10 reasons why Los Angeles Rocks for piano players!!

1) more Gigs!!! There are 18 million people in the LA metropolitan area and that means among other things…more gigs! Let’s face it 18 million people go through a lot of music!wpid-IMAG0642.jpg

2) Highly Cultured- more artists is Los Angeles than any other city ever! That means more love for the musicians who are lucky enough to be here and it means that there is a lot of art which makes it really higher expectations it sort of pushes you to stay on the cutting edge…okay,it also means everyone wants their kids to play music. Hence..music lessons are needed!

3) Film industry–got soundtracks? This means that there are more movies but, also a lot of movies that are trying to rise to the top in the pool which means more work for composers like myself!

4) Southern CA! Ever set up your gear in freezing cold weather ? Enough said!

5) Uber cool People and Celebrities deluxe! I think I get to meet more celebrities In a month than most people might meet in a lifetime! Yes I’ve played for and/or met….Drew Barrymore, Bonnie Raitt, Tom Jones, Isaac Hayes, Cameron Diaz, Chick Corea, Bart Simpson, Foster the People…etc…and people you don’t know their name but…how about the guy I met at my gig on Friday who plays guitar on Dancing With the Stars? Greg Poree! Amazing dude, and he may well come down and jam with me some Friday.

6) Diversity! There are all kinds of different cultures based here there tends to be some very cool mixes of styles and events etc..I’ve played at Latin parties, Armenian, Pilipino, Black, white, Chinese etc…lots of fun! And then you get- Argentinian Chinese etc…you never know but I always find out how awesome everyone actually is!

7) Outdoor weddings and events all year!! Yes I’ve played outdoors all year for parties, weddings you name it. Ok, a few it can get pretty chilly..but overall I love playing under the stars and its just cool!

8) Beaches- I love playing in Malibu,Santa Monica, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Long Beach, et c..it’s awesome. Just being near the beach..There is a beautiful vibe all by itself.

9) Beverly Hills, Belle Aire…I’ve played some amazing pianos in some outrageously amazing homes for amazing people in them parts. Mulholland Drive baby, nothing like it! It’s a fairy land!

10) it’s where I live and I’m a piano player and that in it self just Rocks!!

Any way there probably more but that’s how far I got and I reserve the right to add more reasons!! :-)
