Film is hard work and really fun! : )

Since I started playing music and all kinds of it in school bands, rock bands, jazz bands, metal bands, and you name it and having worked even with a improv comedy act for some time I started thinking how fun it would be to actually do film music.

Once I started producing my own music and using all of the tools available to anyone these days and getting it around to others  eventually a friend of a friend asked me to do some music for a video.

Even though that film did not end up using my music for the final cut I had a heck of a learning experience and really enjoyed it.

Another very good friend, Lincoln Myers, asked me to score the short film. This was the real thing and I’ve had so much fun doing it and learned so much after that I was ready for anything.

One of the things that my friend Mark Isham has pointed out is that one of the great things about film is that there are no genre’s. That is so true. In this current film I’ve gone from solo piano to Industrial Rock and from eriee suspense music to practically classical music. Very challenging, very fun.

And I have several full length TV features going now so I think this ride isn’t over yet.
