About Marc Bosserman
Diversity and Dazzle: Marc Bosserman
Who is this guy? Broadway Musicals, Jazz, Rock and Roll, Standards, Heavy Metal, Classical, Electronica, Film music, TV, Folksongs, what? Marc Bosserman is not your average musician. He’ll try any way he can to brighten your day. We need more sparkle so, let’s bring it to life. Remember that creating is the biggest joy in life.
With a new Electronica CD, “Electronic Chill” coming out any day now and the film music for “Invisible” wrapping up currently there has been wonder about just how he does it.Somehow between solo piano gigs and playing in friend and co-writer Michael Duff’s band and writing with a plethora of known and unknown writers from all over the world, or singing his heart out at get-togethers Marc continues to make it all happen.
Music has always been central in Marc’s life. His parents tell us that he could sing Frere Jacque ( a popular French song for children)(did I mention that Marc lived in France and Africa while growing up, but I digress) perfectly when he was 3 years old. Piano lessons started at nine and playing in various social gatherings started shortly after that. And lest you think piano lessons were just a tedious bore keep in mind that from day one on the piano Marc was figuring out melodies by ear and improvising along to the radio and then there were the 10,000 variations on Chopsticks, Heart and soul, anything he could learn. Ok, Beethoven sometimes got short shrift but those fingers and ears were working out and for hours.
Three sisters were also singers and Marc became an accomplished accompanist. The High School band experience added percussion and drumming into the mix and new musical forays into Big Band and Orchestral works. Guitar and singing became necessary skills to bring to bands and let’s face it there are so many great guitar songs. And let’s not forget that the best part was and always is, playing. With any and everyone. Heavy Metal bands, Southern Rockers, folksters, Gospelers, good ole Rock and Rollers you name it. If it moved people it was worth playing. Music is the soul food of everyone.
So don’t be surprised if you find out the TV or film music was written and produced by… Or the background music you were thinking was a CD is really… Or you want to sing all night to all the tunes you love with…or your best friend finally got their dream to put that song to music and they got help from…or that guy in playing keyboards in that band that sounds so amazing is none other than… Marc.
And don’t’ be surprised when you find what he’s up to next.
