Betsey’s Song

I remember Betsey asking me over and over to play this song for her. Life can be wonderful.

This is from a TV show that I did a few years ago.

It was a great experience to do.

And I love Betsey….so much.

Comments are great if you like it… If you don’t keep your opinions to yourself. lol

Got new photos.Cool expansion going on. Busy!

Just got these great photos from a recent event that I played at. I really like them.

Great venue.A good time was had by all. In addition to playing for diner and the fundraising I did a special performance of  3 inspirational songs.

I played several of my originals.

Life is good. I’m very busy. I”m sure that must be because  the world has become more art conscious! : )

I’ve noticed that Vitello’s in Studio City where I play on Fridays has been really upbeat and exciting the last couple or times that I played there.  Last Friday a some good friends came in that I hadn’t seen in a while and on top of that there were two really large parties that stayed almost all night.

The table in front of me started singing and on Brown Eyed Girl I think it caught on in the whole room and the whole place  just had a great time from there.  Then a guy walked over  and sang “House of the Rising Sun” which just added to it.

There was a woman who came and sang “Blue Moon”. Her name was Bethany Garrett.Totally impromptu but she had a beautiful voice and the whole room loved it. Blue Moon happens to be one of the first standards that I ever learned.

Exciting times for me. My May schedule is full and on top of the gigs that are listed in the Calendar I have a bunch of different things in the studio…(ok they’re in the post below while I’m “getting my Calender mojo on”!-that means while I’m learning how to use the calender program on my website)

I’ve been putting some time in studying internet marketing to be able to reach more people.

I added the program that puts icons on the sidebar of this site  where you can check me out on Twitter and Facebook and lots of other sites too.

Check out my calendar page for the details. There are clubs and restaurants and parties there is once again a Cheetah Fundraiser!

I did one of those a few years ago with my good friend Willy Ma at his beautiful home.

They are always fun.

I’ve got several weddings lined up in the very near future. Wedding are so wonderful. Such an exciting event always personalized and beautiful.

I think on one I’ll end up doing a bunch of guitar songs too.

Let me know if you need music for your next event, function of know anyone who does. I love what I do. And the more I can be of service the more fun it is. : )

Gigs for May! 2009

Here’s the text from an email that my wife Joni sent out. : )

Monday, 4 May – - solo piano
Parkway Grill Restaurant in Pasadena at 510 S Arroyo Parkway.  91105. 6pm – 10pm.   Marc plays their grand piano in the lounge, but his beautiful sounds can be heard throughout the restaurant.  They serve upscale California fare or you can just hang in the lounge. Reservations recommended for the restaurant – call 626-795-1001.  www.theparkwaygrill.com

Wednesday, 6 May – - in Kris Garrett’s band
Music Club Mogul in Los Angeles at 351 North Fairfax Ave.  90036.  8pm – 8:45pm.  $10 cover fee, plenty of free parking.  Kris Garrett is an incredible and beautiful singer, playing many awesome original songs.  The band consists of Marc on keyboard and killer background vocals, JJ (Jim Jaroff) on every imaginable string instrument and doubly killer background vocals (I heard some of the harmonies on these songs are to die for), Evan Malm on bass, Barry Shereshevsky on guitar and Doron Eskinazi on drums.  If I got something wrong on this line up – sorry guys.  Music Club Mogul serves delicious exotic Russian Cuisine.

Friday, 8 May – - in Michael Duff’s band
Genghis Cohen Restaurant in Los Angeles at 740 North Fairfax Ave.  90046.  8pm – 9pm.  Usually a small cover fee.  There’s three people on the bill – Debby Holiday at 9pm (who is outrageous and very worthwhile to see), Michael Duff at 8pm, and Brian Connelly at 10pm.  All these musicians are amazingly talented.  Marc is playing keyboards and background vocals for Duff, as well as Duff’s usual awesome band of: JJ on guitar, Gadi Ben Lavi on bass and Doron Eskinazi on drums.  As the name of the place indicates, you can eat good Chinese fare in the restaurant portion of the place before or after the show.  If you haven’t ever been here, you do need to make it out.  It’s a great venue for shows, with a stage on one end and then “church pew” seating but with long tables to rest your elbows or hold your drinks on, etc.  A must see place.  And this is my May “Duff fix.”  ::)))

Sunday, 10 May – - solo piano
Parkway Grill Restaurant in Pasadena (as above).  11am – 3pm.  This is Mother’s Day.  If you plan to go, make reservations NOW.  Or hang in the lounge. (You can also eat in the lounge, and that way you’re up close and personal with Marc – hahaha)

Monday, 11 May
– - solo piano
Parkway Grill Restaurant in Pasadena at 510 S Arroyo Parkway (as above).   6pm – 10pm.

Thursday, 14 May – - solo piano and singing If you had to chose one, come to this one!!!
Left Coast Wine Bar in Glendale at 117 E Harvard.  91202.  8pm – 11pm.  This is a totally cute place ~ Marc’s played there once before and had a killer great time.  The place is one block south of Broadway, and a couple doors from Brand Blvd.  It’s a very low key, comfortable, friendly place with great art on the wall (connected to the Left Coast Gallery in Studio City), serving some light fare besides wine and other drinks.  It was lots of fun when we played there before, with audience members singing, dancing, playing the percussion instruments and having a grand old time.  Only those who want to have fun need apply.  (tee hee)
No cover charge!  Metered parking on the street or you can probably get 90 minutes free in the lot on Maryland.
